Happy 30th, Rhonda

I conned my friend, Brandy, into going to Seattle with me last Saturday to celebrate my college pal, Rhonda's, 30th birthday. What a blast! It was a great road/shopping/partying trip in a very short amount of time. We left town about 11 AM and got home about 2 AM. We didn't want to stay the night since Andre and Toby are both home from their respective long-distance jobs (Toby is a little more long distance than Andre, though...Iraq). Anyway, we drove up and our first stop was Ikea, where we both spent too much money but had fun exploring the store and eating lunch (meatballs...mmmm). Then we headed over to Rhonda's house to meet up and then followed them to Chopstix, which is a fab piano bar on Queen Ann Hill in Seattle. It was SO fun. We had reservations for 6:45 and the show started at 8 PM. They have dueling pianos and the whole thing is designed for crowd participation. You request songs and then get to sing along. I requested a bunch, including "Help Me Rhonda" for them to call her up and also "Why Don't we Get Drunk and Screw", "The Bitch is Back", and others. They called her up and had her sit on the piano, but instead of singing "Help me Rhonda", they sand "Why Don't We..." It was so funny. Chopstix is for sure on my list of places to visit again. It was perfect for our age group--all of the people there were, I would guess, 30 and over. There were about six bachelorette parties there while we were, too, so we saw lots of fake body parts and a little bit of crude behavior...fun times!!!
