School is cancelled...what to do?!

I was mildly annoyed that school is cancelled today (due to ice...lots of ice). I am a big fan of two hour delays b/c those don't have to be made up. We will have to make today up later on.

I am no longer annoyed though, because today has been productive as I decided to do a little baking. It started with the fact that we have no bread. I'm not afraid to drive, but I don't much feel like taking a shower today and going anywhere. SO, I made bread. Since I was already in the mood, I've also made spritz cookies (which I am NOT good at, I discovered), cocoa no bakes (is there an easier thing to do on this earth...doubtful), and mixed up the sugar cookie dough and got it in the fridge to chill for "two hours or until firm." I am going to make russian tea cookies (aka lot of other things) in a bit.

Speaking of the bread...not sure I'm a huge fan of plain homemade bread. I made white b/c I don't have any wheat flour. It tastes fine but it's not amazing. I will have to look for another recipe for the next time I am out of store-bought, preservative-laden, high calorie bread.

Kudos to you! I've only made a wheat bread and I'm no pro! It turns out different every time...oops! And I have a few diff recipes from Kent's family if you'd want them. I've gotten better at potato dinner rolls..let me know if you'd be interested in making them and I could give you the recipe :)

Hmm. Your bread should have been fabulous? I bet it smelled good though!
Perhaps your madre needs to find the recipe she used to use, I actually may have it, cuz I keep so much crap that I don't ever use. I am trying to rectify that so you and your sister won't have to go through so much stuff when I am dead :-) But as you go through the photos, remember that I always intended to organize them, just didn't get around to it !!!! I know, I'm rambling on, but I'm waiting for the plumber to get here so instead of being productive (like getting rid of crap) I am writing comments on your blog :-) come on, you know you love me :-)
